2026 New Year Message
As we welcome the New Year, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all members, volunteers, and leaders across IEEE Region 10.
Looking back on the past year, we have much to be proud of. Region 10 has continued to grow steadily, supported by dedicated volunteers, strong committees, and effective governance. Together, we successfully delivered major flagship conferences and strengthened our organizational foundations across the region.
I am particularly encouraged by the way our community has responded to challenges. In times of disaster—across the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and India—Region 10 demonstrated that IEEE is a community that acts, not just observes. These experiences have strengthened our shared commitment to human-centered leadership and will guide us as we further develop Humanitarian Technology Activities (HTA) in the year ahead.
The year ahead will be especially important. 2026 is a critical preparation year toward the Region Realignment planned for 2028. As we move forward, we will further strengthen our governance by enhancing transparency, fairness, and accountability, with the clear goal of building a Region 10 that serves its members more effectively and equitably.
By working together with collaboration, shared responsibility, and mutual respect, I am confident that we will lay strong foundations for the future and continue to increase the positive impact of IEEE across our region.
Thank you for your continued commitment.
I wish you and your loved ones a healthy, peaceful, and successful New Year.
Takako Hashimoto
IEEE Region 10 Director (2025–2026)
