Message from IEEE Region 10 Director on the recent earthquake in the Philippines and surrounding areas.

Dear IEEE Members and Volunteers in Region 10,
On behalf of IEEE Region 10, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all those affected by the recent earthquake in the Philippines and surrounding areas.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the many who are enduring loss, injury, and hardship during this difficult time.
The IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Activities Committee (HTAC) is currently working with local Sections and volunteers to assess the situation
and explore how IEEE can provide urgent and practical support to the affected communities.
We are also in close communication with IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) to coordinate our efforts
and ensure that assistance is delivered in the most effective and compassionate way possible.
To all IEEE volunteers in the Philippines and nearby countries — please take care of your safety first.
The entire IEEE community stands with you and is ready to assist as recovery progresses.
With heartfelt sympathy and solidarity,
Takako Hashimoto
IEEE Region 10 Director (2025–2026)
